Catching up

March 22nd, 2009 was a date that changed our lives forever. I had a feeling, so I took a pregnancy test that morning.... 2 lines. I'm pregnant! Wow, that was fast. I never anticipated it would happen that fast. Now I kind of understand how all those people end up on Maury looking for their baby daddy ;) It really can happen that fast.
I know how blessed we are. I've read countless stories of struggles and it makes me wonder why we are so lucky. I guess I won't question it and just be excited.
The hardest thing was not telling everyone. Except for Abe's accidentally shouting it out to the in-n-out guy taking his order, my telling my weight watchers lady why I wasn't coming back ("I swear I have a good excuse..."), and then me bubbling over after spending hours with a couple of my best friends and shouting out, "I'm pregnant" in the middle of a yogurt shop, we pretty much didn't tell anyone until we had the first doctor's appointment confirming yes, we are pregnant.
After that came the fun part... telling the family. All of our family live far away with the exception of my parents so we had some fun with them and wrapped up a couple of onesies that said "Grandma loves me" and "Grandpa is my Hero" and had them open it. Abe had secretly set up the video camera in the corner to catch their reactions. Classic. Everyone else we told over the phone, and of course, they were excited.
Now we're just waiting on our first ultrasound to determine exactly how far along I am. As of right now I'm somewhere between 9 1/2-10 1/2 weeks. We'll see on May 5th. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures.
