Wedding weekend pics

In case you were wondering, Farrah's doing much better. No ear infection, possibly a cold and possibly teething or a combination of both. So happy to see her feeling better. And now..... my dear friends Tina and Anthony got married this past weekend! We had friends and family that were staying with us. Abe rocked the reception as the best DJ in the history of the world, and I have to say, I rocked the makeup. I was pretty darn proud of myself. Here's a progression of the day in picture form.

Tina came over that morning to start her makeup before she got her hair done. Coffee was very necessary. We needed all the caffeine possible to get through that busy morning.

Skip a couple steps to Tina's house, makeup done, dress on and photographer over taking professional pics. By the way, I had no idea the photographer was coming over to her house before and I looked a hot mess because I hadn't gotten myself ready before I went over to help with everyone's makeup. Sorry Tina! Everyone's going to be like "who's that bum ruining all your pics?" "Oh that's just the makeup artist." haha

It's pretty hard for this girl to not look amazing. So I can't take all the credit but I was so happy with how her makeup turned out. Our new name for Tina is America's next top model because she seriously looked amazing!

Me and my bestie! And this was only drink #1 believe it or not!

My brother-in-law happened to be visiting this weekend so he came as Abe's assistant. I love brother pics! Those 2 are so funny together!

I would go over and dance beside the DJ booth from time to time. I'm sure many of the wedding guests thought I was some desperate chick who was trying to hook up with the DJ!

Tina with her nephew/Farrah's soon to be boyfriend

Kind of out of order but this is Tina and Anthony's reception entrance. Gives you a good idea of what an awesome party it was.
Good times! Such a special weekend filled with lots of friend time.

Poor sick baby

We've had a lot of things going on recently which is the reason for the delay in posting. I feel like that's been a reoccuring theme lately. We had a close friend get married last weekend and I did the makeup and Abe DJ'd plus we had family and friends in town (shout out to CJM!) so I feel like it's been a whirlwind of a week. To make things more complicated Farrah got sick a couple days ago. It started the night before last when she didn't seem like herself and woke up around 10 with a fever. We didn't sleep much that night. Tylenol seems to be helping the fever part but she still doesn't seem like herself. Last night was kind of scary. She went to sleep at about 7:30 and then at about 9 she woke up and started fussing. Abe went up to check on her and then started to walk back down the stairs because he was going to make her a bottle and on the way down the stairs heard her start coughing and then what sounded like choking. He sprints up the stairs so I know somethings wrong and run up after him and when I came up the stair I see him holding her and they're both covered in throw up. He said when he reached in the crib to get her she looked like she was turning blue in the face so he grabbed her, turned her over and started to pat her back and she immediately threw up. So scary. Of course then I couldn't go to sleep because I was too worried it would happen again and I wouldn't hear it so I put a blanket and a pillow on the ground next to her crib. Didn't get much sleep. She finally fell asleep around 1 and then woke up again around 4:45.

As scary as that situation was, it makes me wonder how I'm going to get through these next 18 years. There are going to be so many times that she falls down and gets hurt, or gets sick, or has these scary moments it just makes me wonder how all of you parents out there make it without going nuts! She's napping now but I've literally had the baby monitor attached to my hip the whole time with the volume on maximum.

I posted a few recent pics of Farrah, I'll post some more from the wedding and other recent festivities next time around.

"Look how cute my kid is!"

Sometimes I get the urge to yell out to a stranger walking by "look how cute my kid is!" But then I realize that would be inappropriate. So I thought I'd come to my blog to yell out to some family, friends, along with some internet strangers mixed in there too... "Hey, look how cute my kid is!"

These pictures are of Farrah modeling her latest outfit made by her Nana. Farrah wanted me to say "Thanks Nana for helping enhance my cuteness!"

Little Miss 8 months

I thought she needed a little bling

Had to get a close up shot. She looks so much like her daddy to me yet a lot of people seem to think she looks like me... I'm flattered to be compared to the most beautiful person on the planet ;)

She loves chewing on her wet rags... I'm telling you if teething is your problem, a wet rag is your solution!

As you can tell her hair is getting long. It has a Justin Bieber effect that I'm trying to figure out how to tame. She rocks the bieber hair with pride!

Her dumbfounded face cracks me up every time!

I finally caught a great picture of her teeth! ::mommy does the happy dance:: It's not easy to get a picture of those suckers and I just happened to catch her toothy grin this time.

To be honest the necklace was more to entertain her so I could take a few more pictures than anything but it worked!

She makes the same face I do when I'm concentrating on something. A slight pout with the tongue sticking out ever so slightly... When I saw her do it I couldn't believe it and now she does it every time she's focusing on something. I guess she does take after her mom in some ways.

I don't care what anyone says or implies about her chubby arms and legs I love them! I love everything about them... every fold and every roll and she's healthy so why wouldn't I? I can't tell you how many times I've had to say "Nope I feed her exactly how much I'm supposed to."
8 months
I can't believe it will soon be time to start thinking about planning her 1st birthday party. I'm sure you all are tired of hearing me reminisce about way back when she was born and how I can't believe how much time has gone by... and I wish I could say I'll stop but I won't so just deal with it.
When she was first born I, of course, loved her and did all I could to make sure she was taken care of but over these past 8 months I have developed this bond, attachment, extreme love, whatever you want to label it, that I could never have imagined.
Rascal Flatts is one of my favorite bands and I was listening to their music while I was uploading her pictures and the song "Everyday" came on. I have always liked that song but as I was looking through the pictures and I heard the line "Everyday you save my life" I was overcome with emotions and began to cry here at my desk because I don't think I could ever explain to her what she does for me but I think that might be the closest I could possibly get.
Before her I never needed to be "saved" so it may sound strange to say that she "saves my life" but it's the "everyday" part that's key. Every single day she does something, looks at me a certain way, makes a noise, smiles, laughs... oh that laugh, cries, reacts, plays, that absolutely saves me. She might be saving me for that moment, that day, that week, however long it gets me by until I need to be "saved" again. How smart she is to know just when I need her.
I started this post wanting to tell you all about Farrah and how she is as an 8 month old but instead I told you about how I am now that she's an 8 month old. I hope you're able to get your Farrah fix from her pictures.

August already?

The lipstick line at the factory makes 150 lipsticks a minute!

Come on now, we're in Texas... I had to do it :)
Tour of the headquarters building. Absolutely gorgeous building!

Me and my team member Chante posing in front of Mary Kay's office.

Me with my soon-to-be new car

Leadership conference for directors will be in Houston next year. Not only do we get all the perks of being a director, but they're giving us a ring, a necklace and a $1000 bonus for becoming a new director.... I'll take it! ;)

It's hard to think about Christmas during a Dallas summer but they had all of the holiday products out for display plus we got to go home with a bunch of them.

This new perfume is awesome! It's called "thinking of you" and when you open up the box you can write a personal note in it if you're giving it as a gift. How cute is that?

The Queen of unit sales being crowned on stage. Her team sold over $1,050,000 worth of skin care and cosmetics last year! She deserves that crown!

The new pink cadillac SUV. Don't you think Farrah would look super cute riding in the back of that?

For those of you American Idol fans, Jasmine Murray from the season where Kris Allen won was there to perform. Her 2 sisters are both sales directors with Mary Kay so she comes to sing at our events. She was great!

My new purse that I earned. It's hard to tell in this picture but it is really cute!

Me in the new director's suit. I wish I was that skinny! haha!

Where has the time gone? In just a couple days my baby will be 8 months. I can still remember vividly every single moment in that hospital during labor, delivery, and the days after. It's so true when they say it goes by so fast. I just got back from a 5 day trip to Dallas for our annual Mary Kay seminar and it was my first time being away from Farrah. I missed her so much. When you're with them you need a break, when you're away you miss them like crazy. I imagine this is how things will be for quite a while. My sister picked me up from the BART station when I got home with Farrah in the back seat and I hopped in and sat next to her. She stared at me for close to 10 minutes before she finally cracked a smile. I think she really wanted to make sure it was me and not an imposter. She's been a little clingy since then which I expected. These pics are from my trip. I had such a great time. I'm so proud to be a part of this company and all the good things they are doing. As we sat in the arena at the Dallas Convention Center they were literally building a Habitat for Humanity house in the parking lot. From the sales of our "Beauty that Counts" lipsticks last year alone we donated $3 million dollars to women's shelters and education to help prevent domestic violence. Those are just some of the many great things they're doing. I'm home and back to work... I have a car to win afterall ;)
