31 weeks!

A little late on posting so I apologize to the loyal followers of the blog for the delay! I didn't realize that many people were reading it faithfully (aka blog stalking).
Baby girl Naldjian is doing great. She's a mover! It makes me wonder how she'll be on the outside... will I have a trouble maker on my hands? Child birth class is going well although I think the class combined with the fact that we have 2 months left is getting me a little anxious about the birth. Nothing crazy just a little nervous about the pain... a natural fear I guess. I'm lucky that Abe is going to be quite possibly the best dad-to-be in the delivery room (although I'm sure all of you know that already.) I just have to brag about him a bit. In our class he's definitely the best out of all the daddy's-to-be (not that I'm biased or anything.) But he takes notes and remembers everything the instructor says even when I don't. I'm one lucky gal.
I'm so excited for my shower which is coming up in less than 2 weeks. I'm just excited to see everyone and visit. It's an exciting time for us and more than ever I want to be with family and friends.
I've heard this song on the radio a few times recently although I know it's not a new song... I just always changed the channel before because I'm not a big George Strait fan. It's called "I saw God today." He talks about his wife having a baby girl and there's a line where he says
"Got my face pressed up against the nursery glass
She's sleeping like a rock
My name on her wrist wearing tiny pink socks
She's got my nose, she's got her mama's eyes
My brand new baby girl
She's a miracle
I saw God today."

They really shouldn't have songs like these around pregnant women with all of our crazy hormones because I swear I can't listen to that song without crying every time. We've talked a lot about God since we found out I was pregnant and how, even if you're not a religious person, it's really hard to not believe in a higher power when you get to experience all of the amazing things that happen during pregnancy to produce this little person. It's crazy when you think about it.
Ok I'll come off of my soap box... sorry for the preaching. In other news... it's fall!!!! This past week was 100 degrees so I wasn't feeling the fall love but it's finally come down to mid 70's so I feel it coming and I can't wait. Another dr.'s appt. next week so I'll have more to report then... hopefully I got this weight gain in check... keep your fingers crossed for me!

30 weeks!

Wow I can't believe we only have 10 weeks to go! In about 2 months we're going to have a baby girl. I took a few different pictures this week.... the regular belly pic, the bare belly pic, and the "mommy view" pic (what I see when I look down.)
Last week we started our childbirth class. We've been practicing the breathing which is surprisingly relaxing. I always thought that when I was in pain I wouldn't want any part of that, but it has helped me focus. The lady teaching the class has 7 kids so I'd say she's pretty qualified. She gave us a clothes pin to pinch ourselves with and practice the breathing (although I have a feeling labor pain is going to be a lot worse than being pinched but hey) and the breathing does help me take my mind off of the pain. I'm also liking it because she's encouraging lots of back rubs from our partners (not that I'm deprived of that anyways ;) We have 4 more classes once a week that will end with a tour of the hospital.
Other than that, not much has changed this week. I'm so excited for the beginning of fall tomorrow. As most of you know it's my favorite season, but it's supposed to be about 100 degrees several days this week which is not very fall-like so I'm not excited about that. I don't do the heat very well, especially when 7 months pregnant. I'm contemplating whether or not I should buy any more maternity clothes. I don't really want to buy "winter" maternity clothes to only wear them for a couple weeks. I guess we'll see what the weather's like and I may buy a sweater or two out of desperation. Or maybe I'll just look like a bum for the last few weeks and wear Abe's oversized hoodie sweatshirts and sweatpants. If you see me looking like that, please don't judge ;)

29 weeks!

Sorry for the delay! I've been informed that some have come to expect a monday or tuesday update so I do apologize. I wish I had more to say and/or more time to say it because I would update everyday!
This past monday we started our childbirth classes, although I believe this should fall under my update for next week so more to come on that then.
I had a dr.'s appt. last week and the scale was not kind to me. I've gained too much weight at the last couple appts. so I'm trying to be more conscious of what I'm eating. It's hard because many of you know I have a sweet tooth, so add pregnancy on top of that and it's easy to go overboard. I'm not too worried and the dr. didn't seem too worried either but she said to take it easy this month so that's what I'm trying to do. More protein, less carbs and sweets. That should keep me fuller longer. This little girl is sucking a lot out of me! I eat and I'm hungry an hour later!
We had a long weekend this past weekend. Abe DJ'd 2 weddings... 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday. And I worked all day saturday working with the David's bridal brides on their skin care and makeup. My feet were practically numb by the end of the day so I'm going to have to try to sit a lot more on my long Saturdays. Then on the way home Abe called to say that his car had broken down at the wedding he was at which happens to be 2 1/2 hrs away so he had to have a tow truck come get him at 1am in the morning and he didn't get home until about 3:15ish. Then he had to get up the next morning and go to DJ another wedding and had accumulated a cold along the way.
I'm in awe of him because he works so hard but never complains. As my mom-in-love Maryellen says, his daddy mode is already kicking in and I know that's true. The 2 of us are doing whatever we have to do to make sure she's given the world. While he was gone Sunday, I tried to do what little housework I'm still able to do so that he didn't have to worry about any of those things. When you can't use chemicals or lift anything heavy that sort of limits the house work but it's the thought that counts right?
Anyways, much more to talk about next time. And excuse the very visible stretch marks in my bare belly pic. Unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to avoid the stretchmarks. Hopefully they'll go away once she's here. A girl can dream!

28 weeks!

I've definitely had a growth spurt in the past week or so. It's getting harder and harder for me to walk (or should I say waddle) for long periods of time and it's hard for me to get out of bed or off the couch or bend over without grunting like an old person. And I still have 2 1/2 months to go! My feet and hands are definitely swollen and unfortunately my wedding ring has come off because it was so tight it almost got stuck the other day. So even though I'm feeling good, those are some of my current woes (truly not much to complain about..... I have a healthy baby so I'm great!)
My brother-in-law Vartan came to visit us from LA this weekend and it was so great to see him. With our busy schedules and getting ready for baby it's been too difficult for us to make a trip to LA to visit family so it's been great to have some visitors over the past several months.
As many of you know, my hubby's a basketball fanatic and has lots of Nike basketball shorts, shirts, and shoes so naturally we expect our daughter will grow up loving basketball. Vartan brought a gift for the baby and it's a set of Nike baby booties so she already has her first Nike gear. I'm sure Abe is so proud ;) I included some pictures of us with her booties and a picture of the brothers. The next time we see Vartan we will have a baby which is weird for us to think about and I'm sure weird for him to think about too. She'll be here faster than we think!

27 weeks!

I've officially made it to the 3rd Trimester. Less than 3 months to go until we get to meet our baby girl. Please excuse the attire in the belly pic. We had just gotten back from walking Jimmy Choo. I feel like from last week until now my belly has really grown.... or at least she's moved up a little bit. We can now see her moving around in there. One of my favorite times of the day is when I lay down at night and lift my shirt up and see her moving around in there. Like my mother-in-law said, she wants to make her presence known. I think she takes after her big sister Jodi ;) We'll see if her personality matches once she's here.
We're getting ready for our childbirth classes which start next week, although I'm not really worried about doing it naturally because I plan on getting hooked up with an epidural as soon as possible ;) But we still want to be as prepared as possible so I'm sure it will be beneficial. There's not much else to report for now but I'm going to a wedding this weekend and my brother-in-law is coming to visit so I'm sure I'll have some fun stories to tell next time.
